“Just a quick note of appreciation for the work done on my Ruger No. 1 and BAR stock. Both stocks required a very sensitive degree of repair to restore to the original finish. Both of these stocks had been in my family for years and had been used as they were intended. My goal was to restore them to as close as possible to their original appearance. You and your team performed as close to a miracle as possible with the restoration on the finish, without compromising the checkering of either piece.

The only issue I am having right now, is that they look so nice, I don’t want to hunt with them and risk a mishap and ding them back up. I am sure they will not stay Safe Queens very long!”

“After the birth of my first grandchild, I really wanted to do something special for him. I had a close bond with my grandfather as a child and I really wanted to do something to remind mine what he meant to me long after I’m gone. The thought came to my mind to buy him a Henry rifle on his birthday every year until he was 18 (God willing I live that long.) I chose Henry because of their signature rifle “The Golden Boy” and the fact that their company slogan is “Made in America or Not Made at All”. It felt like a great idea, but I still wanted it to be more personal, so I came up with the idea of having his picture at his current age, along with an elder member of his family engraved into the stock with a bible verse to guide him through life. That way, not only can he see the older family members who cared for him so deeply, but he could also see himself grow up through his gun collection. I searched the internet and spoke to a few different wood engravers, but none were really receptive to my idea until I came across Whitetail Woodcrafters. I looked over their website and gave them a call. They were very supportive of my idea and the process was so simple that it kinda scared me. I shipped them the stock and emailed a photo. Within a couple days they mocked it up and emailed it back for approval. Just a short time later I received my stock back with the most beautiful, engraved portrait I had ever seen. You couldn’t ask for a better job! I showed the gun to some family members and a few even choked up over it. Now, with the engravings these guns aren’t as valuable to anyone else, but they will be priceless to my grandson someday. I don’t want him to grow up too fast but there will be 13 more to add to his collection and Whitetail Woodcrafters will do them all!
